It's been over two years since Bagsy was first revealed to the public. Since that initial announcement, the project has come a long way, evolving far beyond what we originally imagined.
Today, we'd like to take a moment to look back at this journey, share the latest development updates, and announce an important decision regarding the game's future.
Bagsy is now scheduled for release in 2027.
We know this means another delay, and we understand that many of you have been looking forward to playing the game. But before explaining the reasons behind this decision, we'd like to share everything we've accomplished since its announcement.
It All Started in May 2024
On May 16, 2024, during the W'happy Digital Day (WDD) event held in Tournai, Belgium, we officially revealed Bagsy to the public for the very first time.
This event, dedicated to digital innovation and technology, marked an important milestone for FORCEFORE as we introduced a project we had been developing with great ambition.
However, the Bagsy we presented back then was very different from the game it has become today.
Since that first appearance, the game has continued to evolve. New ideas have emerged, gameplay mechanics have been redesigned, and many elements have been significantly improved.
This evolution eventually led to a major overhaul of the game in 2026, bringing substantial changes to the overall experience.
A Major Overhaul for Everyone to Enjoy
One of the most significant developments over the past year has been a major redesign of Bagsy's gameplay experience.
This overhaul went far beyond a few minor adjustments. We introduced and reworked new gameplay mechanics with one clear objective: making Bagsy an enjoyable and accessible experience for players of all ages.
We want everyone, from younger players to more experienced ones, to be able to discover and enjoy the game at their own pace.
However, accessibility doesn't mean removing every challenge.
That's why we've also put considerable effort into improving level variety and rebalancing difficulty, creating a more diverse and engaging experience throughout the game.
Our goal is to offer a natural sense of progression while maintaining interesting challenges and rewarding moments for every type of player.
Finding the right balance between accessibility, exploration, and challenge required us to revisit several aspects of the game.
Alongside these gameplay improvements, we've continued refining Bagsy's visuals, sound design, music, and all the small details that contribute to creating a more immersive experience.
Today, Bagsy is more polished and complete than ever before, and this overhaul represents a major step toward delivering the experience we've always envisioned.
An Ambition That Has Never Changed
From the very beginning, our goal at FORCEFORE has remained the same: to deliver an immersive, carefully crafted, and complete gaming experience.
We believe that a great game isn't defined solely by its core gameplay mechanics. It's also shaped by the countless little details that bring its world to life.
That's why we pay particular attention to every aspect of Bagsy: its environments, visual identity, animations, sound effects, music, and all the subtle elements that make the experience feel alive.
We want every element to have its place and contribute to a cohesive, enjoyable, and memorable adventure.
This commitment to quality has sometimes led us to reconsider previous decisions, revisit completed features, and spend additional time on details that might initially seem minor.
But we strongly believe that these details are what make the difference.
Where Does Development Stand Today?
This is probably one of the biggest questions on your mind, and we're happy to share some good news:
The game itself is now almost entirely complete!
After years of development, Bagsy is closer than ever to its final version.
However, having all the game's content in place doesn't necessarily mean it's ready for release.
Some remaining bugs still require our full attention, and additional internal testing is necessary to ensure the experience is as stable, polished, and enjoyable as possible.
These final stages are essential. They allow us to verify that everything works as intended, resolve outstanding issues, and make sure the entire game meets our expectations.
We're now entering a phase where our priority is no longer simply adding content, but rather testing, refining, and polishing everything we've built.
Introducing Our Brand-New Online System
One of the features currently requiring particular attention is our brand-new online system.
This system represents an important milestone in Bagsy's development and is designed to support original experiences that will expand what's possible within the game.
However, introducing a system like this also requires extensive testing and careful validation.
We want to ensure its reliability, stability, and compatibility with the various elements of the game.
That's why additional internal testing is necessary before we can confidently move toward release.
We'd much rather take the time to properly test these features than deliver an experience that doesn't yet meet our standards.
Why Are We Moving the Release to 2027?
As you've probably gathered by now, Bagsy is very close to completion, but there are still a few important steps ahead.
We could have tried to speed things up to meet our previous release window. However, doing so would have meant reducing the time dedicated to testing and final improvements.
And that's simply not the direction we want to take.
After all the work we've invested in this project, we don't want to rush things when we're so close to the finish line.
Bagsy deserves our full attention, right up until the very last stages of development.
For this reason, we've made the decision to delay its release one final time, to 2027.
This new release window will give us the opportunity to complete the necessary adjustments, continue testing our online system, and deliver the level of quality we've been working toward.
We understand that another delay may be disappointing, but we'd rather be transparent with you than rush the game out before it's truly ready.
The Final Stretch
Although Bagsy won't be released until 2027, we're approaching this next chapter with great enthusiasm.
Watching the game take shape over the years, evolve, and gradually become the experience we've always imagined has been incredibly rewarding.
There's still work to be done, but we're closer than ever to achieving our vision.
The coming months will be dedicated to final fixes, testing, and polishing.
